Proof you can drive
You must hold a full driving licence that is valid in the UK.
Proof you use the vehicle
To get a resident parking permit, you must show that the vehicle is registered, leased, or hired to you at your Hammersmith & Fulham address.
If the vehicle is yours
- Provide clear digital copies of the front and inside pages of the vehicle registration document (V5/C).
- The registration document must be in your name and show your H&F address.
If the vehicle is yours but is registered ooutside the UK
You can only get a 6-month permit.
You must register the vehicle with the DVLA within 6 months.
We won't renew your permit unless your vehicle is DVLA-registered.
If the vehicle is hired or leased
Upload a copy of the signed hire or lease agreement. It must:
- Show your name and H&F address
- Be on company letterhead paper
- Include the start and end dates of the agreement.
If the vehicle is owned by your employer
If you drive a company car, you'll need to provide:
- A signed letter from your employer (on letter-headed paper, dated within the last 3 months) confirming:
- you work for them
- that you are the main user of the vehicle
- the vehicle is kept at your H&F address.
- A copy of the vehicle registration document (V5C) or lease agreement in the company's name.
We may ask for more documents to confirm vehicle use.
Proofs of residence
You must provide at least two documents confirming your address in Hammersmith & Fulham.
Choose one of the following as your main proof:
- New resident: Council tax notification reference number + one supporting document
- Council tax account holder: Council tax number + one supporting supporting document
- Private tenant (not named on council tax): Signed, witnessed, and up-to-date tenancy agreement + two supporting supporting documents
- No tenancy agreement: Letter from council tax account holder confirming your residence + two supporting supporting documents
Independent supporting documents
Choose from the list below. Each document must clearly show your name and H&F address:
- Motor insurance certificate and schedule
- Vehicle registration document (V5C)
- Buildings or contents insurance policy
- Utility bill (gas, water, electricity, or telephone) – dated within the last 3 months
- Payslip, pension slip, or HMRC notice – dated within the last 2 months
- Bank, credit card, store card statement, or building society book – showing transactions within the last 2 months
Important notes
- Supporting documents must be used with one of the 4 main proofs of residence listed above.
- Do not send original documents.
