Our parking system has changed
We moved to a new parking permit system on 3 February 2025. You now need to create an online permit account to apply for parking.
Step 1. Create an account on the new parking permit system. Validate your email address by clicking on the link in the email you will receive.
Step 2. Log in to your new account and apply for your parking permit. You will need to provide supporting documentation during the application process.
You can apply online for a residents' or housing estate parking permit if you meet the following criteria:
- You hold a full driving licence is valid in the UK
- You can prove you live in the borough
- You can prove you are the main person responsible for the vehicle

Please check that you meet all eligibility requirements.
We can only issue a permit if all your submitted documents meet the criteria.
Missing documents?
If you don't have all the required documents right now, you can still apply for a 6-month or 12-month permit.
You may be eligible for a temporary permit which will cost: £100 and will give you 30 days to provide the missing documents.
If you don't submit the required documents within 30 days, your permit will be cancelled, the fee will not be refunded, and you'll need to start a new application.

Permit costs are based on your vehicle's emissions.

What happens after you apply?
Once you have submitted your application online, you'll receive an email confirmation that we've received it.
We'll review your application and documents. We aim to process your application within 5 working days.
Possible outcomes:
- Approved: You'll receive an email with your permit details and a payment link, you will need to make payment within 7 days to activate your permit
- Missing documents: We'll email you to request more information and may offer a temporary permit
- Declined: We'll email you and let you know why.
Once payment is received, you'll get a confirmation email and can start using your permit immediately.
