The H&F Plan - 2023 to 2026

Published: 15 December 2023

Foreword

Hammersmith & Fulham (H&F) is a special place that offers great opportunities and welcomes everyone.

We are a community of 185,000 people, nearly half of whom were born outside the UK, who live and work alongside each other in London’s most dynamic borough.

We live in a relatively wealthy part of one of the richest cities in the world. We are host to one of the fastest-growing economic hotspots, with world-leading institutions and businesses, and a prestigious sporting and cultural heritage.

We have recovered well from the disastrous effects of a global pandemic, but families across the borough continue to face hardship with the high cost of living.

Once again, we are facing economic uncertainty and significant financial pressures because of central government funding cuts.

We know that inequalities persist within the borough and that too many families’ lives are blighted by poverty, domestic abuse, poor air quality, crime and loneliness.

We also know that more needs to be done to ensure that every council home is well-maintained, safe and fit for the 21st century.

We have:

  • a committed and dedicated workforce that shares our values
  • outstanding council services and schools
  • wonderful parks and open spaces
  • a stunning new Civic Campus in development.

And we are also proud to celebrate our European identity and the diversity of our communities.

This Corporate Plan for 2023-26 describes how we will work with our residents, businesses, voluntary and community sector and partners to rise to the challenges of our time and share the new opportunities to build a stronger, safer and kinder borough for everyone.
