Residents cheer as H&F launches second Family Hub in Fulham

Fulham residents and local partners helped us open the borough’s second new Family Hub this week.

Cllr Alex Sanderson (centre right) with H&F staff and partners, and Cllr Sharon Holder (second row, centre left) cut the hub's ribbon

Opened at the Tudor Rose Community Centre in Shottendane Road on Thursday (18 April), our new hub builds on the success of the former children’s centre. It will now be home to an even greater range of support and experts for local residents.

Local mum Eva told us why the new hub will be so important: “I’m a cancer patient and it’s been extremely important for me to have the support. We’re very happy to hear that there’ll be even more services at the centre.”

While Fulham mother-of-two Clancy said: “I always have questions. Anything about parenting and baby advice I ask staff. I am really happy to hear they’re expanding their services. It’s so nice knowing that there’s somewhere to come where everyone is so experienced.”

Something for everyone

Help at H&F’s new Family Hub in Fulham will include money and debt relief support, stop smoking services, infant feeding guidance and youth club activities.

On launch day, our local partners working from the hub – including Nourish Hub, the Young Hammersmith & Fulham Foundation, and Citizens Advice – each had staff on hand for residents to speak to.

Also talking to residents were H&F councillors – Cllr Alex Sanderson, H&F Cabinet Member for Children and Education, and Cllr Sharon Holder, H&F Cabinet Member for Public Realm – who got in on the fun by cutting the ribbon.

Growing in numbers

The Family Hub Tudor Rose Community Centre is our second new family hub in H&F.

We launched our first – the Family Hub Stephen Wiltshire Centre in Fulham – with the help of local residents and partners. Watch our launch video.

The Stephen Wiltshire hub specialises in support services for families with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Find out more about our SEND offer here.

We will also be launching a third hub in the north of the borough – Family Hub Old Oak Community Centre – on Wednesday 24 April. Everyone’s invited to come along to the Braybrook Street centre, 3pm to 6pm, to see what the new hub includes.
