About Adult Services

H&F is a borough for everyone. We're committed to empowering our residents to lead independent, fulfilling lives — and to providing compassionate support whenever they need a helping hand.

Our dedicated teams work around the clock, side by side with residents, to make this vision a reality. We also collaborate closely with a wide range of local charities and organisations whose expertise and guidance help drive our success.

"We champion independent living and are committed to ensuring every resident feels respected and cared for.

From free home care to innovative recovery services, we're building a care system that reflects H&F's core values — compassion, inclusivity, and fairness."

Highlights of our Adult Social Care coverage

It's an exciting time to be part of H&F Adult Services.

With opportunities to work across diverse teams and specialisms, you'll help shape a care system that's nationally recognised for its innovation and compassion.

We're proud to be the only council in England offering free home care to our residents — a life-changing service we've provided since 2014 to support independent living.

Our commitment to co-production and independent living is guided by the principle of "doing things with residents, not to them."

We're the first council to co-produce independent living with Disabled people, ensuring lived experience shapes what independence truly means to them. Grounded in the social model of disability, we are also focused on removing barriers and promoting rights, equity, and inclusion.

In 2023, we were recognised as a dementia-friendly community. Since then, we've launched the H&F Dementia Academy — a pioneering learning network where residents and professionals co-produce a dynamic, inclusive curriculum.

Our Community Independence Service (CIS) has helped hundreds of residents aged 18+ recover safely and confidently at home after medical treatment — reducing hospital stays and improving quality of life.

We also work in partnership with the West London NHS Trust to improve access to mental health support for underrepresented communities, including racially and ethnically diverse groups, LGBTQ+ individuals, and Disabled people.
