Our essential traders will continue to trade throughout the current lockdown period, providing residents with a great service.

In North End Road you'll find stalls selling good value fruit and vegetables, eggs, fresh fish and cheese. Also a few hot food traders selling Thai food, falafel, hot drinks and healthy meals and a hardware stall for cleaning materials, PPE and toiletries. The council is working closely with traders to provide advice and support that helps them operate safely and have completed a risk assessment with each trader.

In Lyric Square, Hammersmith we have a reduced number of stalls selling organic bread, organic fruit, and vegetables, and a few hot food stalls providing a take-away service.

It is important that the traders and the customers continue to stay safe by ensuring social distancing measures are observed to keep our community safe.

Please remember to follow the government advice on social distancing when going outside and visiting your local markets. This includes:

  • stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people
  • limit contact with other people
  • travel on foot or by bike if you can; consider all other options before using public transport
  • wash your hands for 20 seconds on a regular basis
  • if you cannot social distance and you’re likely to come into contact with people you don’t normally meet, wearing a face covering is recommended
