Free business advice and support helpline

Hammersmith & Fulham Council has launched a new and FREE business advice and support helpline (BASH) to assist local entrepreneurs and small businesses who are looking to start-up or grow their businesses.

If you are looking for information, advice, training and practical support such as funding, mentoring, training, networking and office space etc to start, improve or grow your business, the business support helpline can help you.

The helpline will be operated by experienced advisers and where relevant, practical and beneficial, follow up will be given including one-to-one support.

Free monthly Enterprise Club

Come down to H&F Enterprise Club’s shiny new home for free business advice

Whether you are just thinking about starting a business, in the process of setting one up or have already started and want to grow, the new H&F Enterprise Club is here to help.

Our next session is: 'HMRC, Rules For Small Business', on Wednesday 17 October from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Work.Life, Kings House, 174 Hammersmith Road.

Our monthly Enterprise Club will give you the opportunity to:

  • Meet and network with fellow local entrepreneurs
  • A business start-up boot camp where you can learn how not to make the mistakes new businesses commonly commit
  • Training and seminars across a wide range of topics including accountancy, marketing and social media.

Work.Life in Hammersmith features a mix of private offices (for teams of 2-60 people) and creative hot desking space with shared kitchens and private phone booths. Edge of the Box business club

Run by the Chelsea FC Foundation, the Edge of the Box club has been created by our shared passion for enterprise and desire to innovate. The club is aimed at job seekers with an idea, start-ups and businesses who care about start-ups. The next club is on 2 November. For more details see the Edge of the box business club flyer (pdf).

Business workshops

We also run business workshops which cover specific topics that businesses have told us they want to know more about. All these workshops take place at the Macbeth Centre.

Project management

This course will look at the basic concepts and principles of projects and project management, eg the cycle of a project, stakeholders, quality and the role of a project manager.

Who is the course for?

Those working in business enterprises with responsibility for project management or implementation, or those who want to develop skills in this area. Those working in local government, charities etc who want to deliver efficient and effective projects in their workplace or community.

  • Thursdays, 6.30pm to 8.30pm, for 10 weeks (starts on 27 September 2018 and finishes on 6 December 2018)
  • Tuesdays, 6.30pm to 8.30pm, for 10 weeks (starts on 7 May 2019 and finishes on 16 July 2019)

Need help in becoming a pop-up shopkeeper?

The Petit Miracle Hub – a business incubation project – is on the lookout for entrepreneurs who need a helping hand to become the retailers of tomorrow.

Every new entrepreneur gets free retail space for three months in a kiosk, business workshop support, access to networking events, business advice, peer backing, broadband, meeting space and a buzzy, inspirational environment.
