Hammersmith & Fulham has been ranked among the world's leading cities for climate action.
CDP – who tracks environmental performance for governments and companies worldwide – has awarded H&F its top A-rating for the second consecutive year.
The organisation runs the world's largest environmental database. It's used by investors, managing $127trillion in assets, to decide where to put their money. Nearly 1,000 cities submit their climate data to be scored each year.
H&F also ranked among Britain's top councils in Climate Emergency UK's Council Climate Action Scorecards. We've improved our overall score from 60% in 2023 to 70% in 2025.
Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Ecology, said:
We are determined to build a record number of energy-efficient, affordable homes for local residents and create the largest electric vehicle charging network per head in the country. We're raising millions for vital ecological projects through our pioneering Green Investment scheme.
This recognition shows that changing how we heat, power and run our borough is making H&F stronger, safer and kinder."
What we've achieved since 2019
The rankings show our progress in areas that directly benefit residents such as cleaning our dirty air, cutting energy bills and creating beautiful green spaces for local people and wildlife.
Since declaring a climate emergency, we've delivered:
Warmer homes and lower bills
One of London's largest heat pump systems taking shape at our new Civic Campus in Hammersmith. And a record-number of affordable, highly energy efficient 'Passivhaus' homes being built on the Aintree Estate in Fulham.

Cleaner air and easier journeys

A more climate change resilient H&F
Grey concrete has made way for new green spaces in Fulham's Eelbrook Common and Purcell Crescent. Our sustainable drainage schemes now prevent flooding and cool the area. They have been made possible thanks to local support from our £2.5million Green Investment scheme.
