Message from Cllr Stephen Cowan

Once again, we are entering another national lockdown.

It is essential that not only do we do everything we can to save lives, but we also break the exponential increase in infections if we’re to stop a much longer lockdown over the winter. That will have a catastrophic effect on local businesses and people’s livelihoods.

For those reasons, the government’s measures are essential, even if overdue. By following the guidance to stay at home we will save lives, protect our economy and minimise the length of time the lockdown is deemed necessary.

We have long been preparing for this at H&F Council. As with last time, I have directed our team to take a people first approach. Our priority remains people’s health and wellbeing and our operation is focussed on providing all the necessary support to get us all through this latest stage of the contagion.

Many services will change their working practices, so please visit lbhf.gov.uk for the details. The coronavirus section of our website will be updated regularly with advice.

If you need help, please contact the H&F CAN helpline, call 0800 145 6095 or email can@lbhf.gov.uk

Please stay safe and let’s rise to the latest challenge together.
