This year Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, became the first British monarch to celebrate 70 years on the throne.
To celebrate this historic occasion, an extended Bank Holiday weekend will see parties take place all over the borough from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June.
Hammersmith & Fulham have a long history of celebrating royal Jubilee events and this year will be no different. We’re holding two major events in Ravenscourt Park, Hammersmith, and Bishops Park, Fulham, as well as promoting the Big Jubilee Lunch parties across the borough.
Meanwhile, H&F residents will throw more than 80 local street parties – from Braybrook Street in College Park to Glenrosa Street in Fulham – to pay tribute to Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.
And we’ll be photographing as many as possible to form part of the official archives of Hammersmith & Fulham Council.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon – 2 June
The lighting of the Jubilee Beacon is the first event we’re holding over the long Jubilee weekend on Thursday 2 June in celebration of The Queen’s 70 years of service.
The Beacon will be lit in Lyric Square. It’ll be one of thousands lit on Thursday evening across the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories in honour of The Queen.
The ceremony is free for all to attend and will be accompanied by music.
At 9:25pm H&F’s Deputy Mayor, Cllr Daryl Brown, will open the ceremony, followed by a few words from H&F’s Leader, Cllr Stephen Cowan. This will be followed by pipe music and a live performance from Buglers and Cornet players.
The Beacon will be lit at 9.45pm and will be followed by the Linking Hands Choir performing the Commonwealth Song.

Jubilee Arts Market – 3 June
Our Zero-Emissions Market is returning to Lyric Square on Friday 3 June from 11am to 5pm – this time, with a royal twist!
Drop by to support local artists and makers from H&F and enjoy live music from Queen Tribute act Princes of the Universe.
The market – the first of its kind in London – is a partnership between H&F Council and Hammersmith BID.

Platinum Party in the Park – 4 June
On Saturday 4 June we’re hosting two free jubilee parties in Ravenscourt Park and Bishops Park for everyone to enjoy.
There’ll be entertainers, musicians, dance troops, food trucks, games and more throughout the day. We’ll also be showing Buckingham Palace’s evening concert on large screens in both parks.
Each park’s party will run from 12 noon to late and is completely free of charge.
Platinum Picnic in the Park – 5 June
If you’ve got several street party invites and can’t decide which to attend, or if you’re not planning on hosting an event, why not come and attend one of our Platinum Picnics in the Park?
We’ll be hosting two Big Jubilee Lunch community picnics, Sunday 5 June, in Ravenscourt Park and Bishops Park.
Bring your own food or buy lunch from one of the food stands, and enjoy the Platinum Jubilee with other residents from across the borough.
Don’t forget to bring your own picnic blanket or chairs to sit on. We will be handing out some tables, however this will be on a first come, first served basis.
Each picnic will run from 12 noon to 6pm and is completely free of charge to attend.
Big Jubilee Lunch
There are more than 80 Big Jubilee Lunches happening across H&F to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s historic reign.
Over the long bank holiday weekend there are three street parties in Wormwood Scrubs, five in White City, 13 in Shepherds Bush and nine in Hammersmith.
Baron’s Court residents are hosting one, there are three in Clem Attlee, another one in Walham Grove.
Hurlingham residents are throwing nine parties, there are another 25 in Fulham and a further six in Sands End.
