Cadent Gas works are underway to dig up the double roundabout near The Oak pub in Goldhawk Road.

Originally scheduled to finish on Sunday 7 September, the works will now continue until Friday 20 September, says Cadent Gas.

The three-way traffic lights and diversions will remain in place throughout the extended period. Cadent is set to complete work on one side of the road this weekend (6 to 7 September) before switching to the opposite carriageway on Monday 8 September.

What's happening?

Cadent Gas is upgrading the pipes in the short stretch of Goldhawk Road between the Askew Road mini-roundabout and the end of the shop parade opposite the junction with Paddenswick Road, with traffic diversions put in place.

Three-way lights help manage traffic, the bus lane is shut, and four bus stops – ST, SH, SC and SX – are temporarily suspended.

H&F Council is closely monitoring the works. We are urging the gas company to complete the roadworks as quickly as possible, because there is likely to be a serious effect on traffic in the area.

"Thank you, in advance, for your patience while we complete these essential works to futureproof the gas network in Shepherds Bush," said a Cadent Gas spokesperson.
