TfL announces tube closure on bank holiday weekend

Piccadilly line to partially close between Hammersmith and Cockfosters to carry out a series of improvement works

Hammersmith tube station

Allow extra time if you're using the tube this bank holiday weekend if you're planning on passing through Hammersmith.

The Piccadilly line is suspended eastbound from Hammersmith to Cockfosters for track work.

From Saturday (24 May) to Monday (26 May), the 26-station stretch of line including Barons Court and Earl's Court will be closed, including night trains.

Transport for London advises using other tube lines, bus services or rail replacement buses.

The work is part of a £2.9billion package of improvements to the tube line, which handles 10 per cent of all London Underground journeys.
