You're invited to find out more about local health and wellbeing support. A fun-filled community fair in Fulham will share expert advice along with wellbeing taster sessions and a nutritious lunch on Wednesday (14 May).
Local charity The Creighton Centre is hosting the annual health and wellbeing fair from 10am-2pm at its headquarters at 378 Lillie Road. A gardening activity and musical singalong will bring a summer buzz to the fair, while visitors can tuck into a free lunch and refreshments.
Calming chair-based yoga and a mindfulness session are also set to deliver a sense of wellbeing, while visitors can make their own herbal teabags packed with fragrant rosemary.
Open to all, the fair's expert health advice will include blood pressure checks, tips on staying active and preventing falls, and nutrition pointers for a healthy mind and body.
Jessica Lawn, manager of older people's services at The Creighton Centre, explains: "It's a great opportunity to celebrate diverse and inclusive health and wellbeing support on offer to residents of H&F. The fair will also encourage people to take part in our free taster activities and make healthy life changes."
West London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trusts will be sharing information, along with charities including Stroke Association and Dementia Friends.
Financial advice
It's not just about healthy bodies either – one of the aims of the fair is to help visitors improve the health of their bank balances too.
The team from Green Doctors will be on hand to share advice on cutting household bills, from energy saving tips to using heating and hot water controls to save cash.
The fair is a chance to explore any extra cash that visitors could be eligible to apply for, with Citizens Advice Hammersmith & Fulham providing free, confidential advice on benefits, debt, housing and consumer rights.
H&F Council's Careline and Sensory Impairment teams will also be available to answer questions and share information.
"The fair is open to all H&F residents, carers, volunteers and professionals interested in gaining information, advice and practical support on health and wellbeing topics," adds Jess.
Established in 1908 as Bishop Creighton House, The Creighton Centre charity helps care for older, vulnerable and disabled people, as well as supporting children and young people.
