Little ones had a baa-rilliant time meeting donkeys, goats, guinea pigs, chickens and ferrets on Moylan Road.
More than 80 children from the Little People of Fulham and nearby Sir John Lillie primary school took a mini field trip down the street, where friendly farm animals were waiting to greet them.
The road was closed temporarily – thanks to Hammersmith & Fulham Council's Play Streets programme – which allowed the kids to pet, feed and learn all about the animals.

A kinder borough
The Play Street created a safe and car-free environment while the little ones enjoyed hands-on time with the animals.
We want to help our residents re-imagine and make the most of their local spaces. It's a part of our work to make H&F a kinder place to grow up.
Bringing the farm to the Play Street made the experience more accessible for the nursery kids, aged six months and four years. Alison Truss, the nursery manager, explained:

We usually have an annual visit to see farm animals, but it's a challenge to navigate public transport. Having the travelling farm visit us right by our nursery made it possible for all our children – including babies and toddlers – to safely interact with the animals."
Many children were meeting some of the animals for the first time, especially the ferrets, which sparked lots of curiosity.
"One goat was small and fat, and the other was tall. The donkeys were hungry and licked my hand. I loved the guinea pigs and the chickens – they do cock-a-doodle-doo," said one of the three-year-olds on the day. Some children even stopped by with their parents, even though it wasn't a nursery day for them.

"We'd love to host this event again next year and add sheep and pigs, since the children were hoping to see those too," added Alison.
The Fire Brigade also made a special visit during the event, chatting with families about fire safety – making our borough safer. Firefighters even helped children onto the truck and let them explore the equipment.
Host your own Play Street
H&F encourages every resident to consider hosting their own Play Street event.
Play Streets temporarily close roads to traffic, creating safe spaces for children to play outdoors and for communities to come together.
Whether you want to host farm animals, outdoor games or simply create space for free play, we make the process straightforward.
