Team up to ‘Beat the Street’ for fitness, fun and fantastic prizes

An interactive game is set to transform H&F into a giant game of treasure hunt from Wednesday 28 February.

Beat The Street is coming to Hammersmith & Fulham from Wednesday 28 February

Get ready to bring the fun to your school run as we turn Hammersmith & Fulham into a giant game of treasure hunt.

Interactive and inclusive game ‘Beat the Street’ offers residents a way to get active and win prizes while exploring the borough on foot.

Whether on the way to school, work or in their free time, players can collect points by visiting dozens of lamppost check points – called ‘Beat Boxes’ – across a six-week period.

It runs from Wednesday 28 February to 10 April, with players able to compete in teams against or alongside family and friends.

Walk along for prizes, better health and get to know your borough in a whole new way. It’s a great way to enjoy our beautiful riverside and award-winning parks and green spaces together with family and friends. See you out and about!”

— Cllr Alex Sanderson, H&F Cabinet Member for Children and Education

The fun-boosting fitness game is delivered in partnership with Intelligent Health, with financial support from H&F Council and the National Lottery via Sport England.

Tap to play

H&F is home to a huge number of famous landmarks and venues across leisure, sports and entertainment.

From major football clubs to world-famous music stages, bustling food markets and Europe’s largest shopping centre, ‘green-flagged’ parks and blue plaques, there’s plenty of ground to cover.

Beat The Street turns every journey into a game. Players will be able to walk, bike, scoot, or wheel along familiar routes and discover new corners of the borough as they rack up points.

It’s easy – and free – to get started. Here’s how it works:

Sign up: Create your account and download the map on the Beat The Street website. Alternatively, players aged 13 or above can download the free Beat the Street App via Google Play or the App Store.

Connect your card: Connect your contactless card to your player profile. Free cards are available at various collection points in the borough, including libraries, leisure and community centres. Find a full list on the Beat the Street map.

Play together: Create a new team for your family and friends, or join an existing one, to accumulate points together. Registrations open on Wednesday 21 February, 12pm.

Enter the game: Score points as you travel from Beat Box to Beat Box, tapping your card or phone as you go along. Use this handy map to find your nearest box and navigate the borough.

Tap two sensors within an hour to collect 10 points for each Beat Box, then keep going. The further you travel, the more points you’ll accumulate.

Check the leaderboard: Look online to see how far you’ve come, and track your progress on the digital leaderboards.

Secure prizes: There are fantastic prizes on offer for the highest-scoring teams, including sport and book vouchers for schools, worth several hundred pounds, and sport and fitness vouchers for community and workplace groups. The winners will be announced on Thursday 11 April.

'Beat Boxes' will be secured to lampposts across the borough

Extra points for early birds

Can’t wait to get going? We’ve teamed up with Intelligent Health to give three lucky winners a 30-point head-start to the game. Each winner will also receive a Love2Shop voucher worth £30.
