Hammersmith firm Fever-Tree donates £10k to UNITED coronavirus appeal

Here’s a toast to the Brook Green-based mixer drink company Fever-Tree which has donated £10,000 to keep H&F residents safe from coronavirus.

The firm is supporting the UNITED in Hammersmith & Fulham COVID-19 response appeal that coordinates frontline efforts from fellow charities to shield vulnerable and high-risk families and individuals.

Fever-Tree’s Jess Ainley explained: “The impact the virus is having on communities is unprecedented, and it’s more important than ever to come together and support one another.”

She added that as the mixed brand’s HQ is in Hammersmith, the firm wanted to support the work of the charity UNITED.

Cllr Sue Fennimore, Deputy Leader at Hammersmith & Fulham Council, praised Fever-Tree for its generosity. “This fund was created to enable businesses and individuals to support the local response to the virus – and Fever-Tree’s kind gift will assist the most vulnerable in our community cope at this desperate time.”

UNITED in Hammersmith & Fulham is working in partnership with H&F Council to distribute funds via the voluntary sector to help those in need and stop the spread of the virus.

Groups which will benefit include local non-profit organisations supporting high-risk elderly residents, those in poverty, local people with HIV, the learning-disabled community and those with mental health conditions likely to be worsened by the lockdown.

Savraj Kaur, Programme Development Lead at UNITED, said the donation means ‘we can provide immediate relief to those facing the most risk, including those already in poverty or isolation, who face new challenges in the weeks to come’.
