More than 10,000 visitors enjoyed Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s seasonal traffic-free market at North End Road on Saturday.
They enjoyed browsing 100+ stalls and were entertained by live musicians, stilt walkers, performers and a funfair on 8 October.
But if you missed the autumn market fear not as the Christmas market returns to Fulham on Saturday 3 December, running from 9am to 5pm.
The traffic-free seasonal markets are part of H&F Council’s drive – together with residents in the North End Road Action Group – to revive this major high street.
“Once again North End Road was packed,” said Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration.
“These seasonal events bring this historic street and market to life. They are the perfect opportunity for first-time traders to try their hand. It’s all part of our efforts to regenerate the market, the road and the area for traders, shops and the community.”
Alongside the 140-year-old fruit and veg market, some of the highlights this year included handmade jewellery, clothes with hand-drawn artwork, vintage cake stands, bicycles and cycling gear, adult clothes and children’s wear.
Even if you’ve never traded before, the market is the perfect opportunity to introduce your product to thousands of customers. Previous traffic-free markets have seen traders launch new businesses thanks to their success on the day.
The traffic-free markets are a great opportunity for startups,” said Mark Richardson, member of the North End Road Action Group.
“More established traders find a friendly crowd who are out to have fun and enjoy themselves with their families.
“The curated mix of stalls means that there is a wide variety of goods and street foods to make the day successful for everyone.”
