Chatterbooks (children's book club)

Shepherds Bush library
Chatterbooks Group 1 (fortnightly session). Sunday 2pm to 3pm. Suitable for 6 to 11-year-olds. Term time only
Chatterbooks Group 2 (weekly session). Wednesday 4pm to 5pm. Suitable for 6 to 11-year-olds. Term time only

Chess Club

Hammersmith library, Wednesday 5.30pm to 6.45pm for adults and children.

Coding Club

Learn how to program using Code.org, Python and Minecraft with Stefan. (You must bring your own laptop to be able to use Minecraft and Python.)

This club is suitable for children aged 7+ and is limited to 6 spaces.

Fulham library, Sunday 11am to 12pm. Starting 17th September 2023, Registration must be made in advance either by emailing fulhamlibrary@lbhf.gov.uk, at the customer service desk or by phone on 020 8753 3877.

Creative writing (children's)

Shepherds Bush library, Wednesday 5pm to 6pm. Suitable for 6 to 11-year-olds (term time only).

Askew Road library, Tuesday 4.45pm to 5.45pm for children aged 3 to 11 years.

Hammersmith library, Tuesday 3.30pm to 4.30pm for children aged 3 to 11 years.

Shepherds Bush library, Tuesday 3.45pm to 4.45pm and Saturday 2.30pm to 3.30pm (term time only) for children aged 3 to 11 years.

English conversation group

Are you interested in practicing conversation in English? Come and join us discussing a different topic each week, as we explore language and culture. These sessions are free.

Homework help

Askew Road library, Friday 3.45pm to 4.30pm (term time only).

Hammersmith library, Monday to Thursday 4.30pm to 5.30pm, and Saturdays 11am to 12 noon and 2pm to 3pm.

Shepherds Bush library, Monday 4.45pm to 5.45pm, and Thursday 4.30pm to 5.30pm and Sunday 11am to 12 noon (term time only) for children up to ages 5 to 11 years.

IT help sessions

These sessions need to be booked in advance and can provide basic one-to-one IT help.

Hammersmith library (60-minute sessions), Monday 11am to 12 noon, Wednesday 11am to 12 noon and 2pm to 3pm, Thursday 2pm to 3pm and 3pm to 4pm. Please book at the customer service desk or call 020 8753 3820.

Knitting Club

Askew Road library, Monday 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Law Enforcement Team surgeries

The Law Enforcement Team are running surgeries in our libraries. Residents can raise problems or seek advice, particularly about antisocial behaviour, street cleansing or any other local issues. 

The surgeries run from 2pm to 4pm at the following libraries:

• Shepherds Bush Library – 1st Monday of the month
• Hammersmith Library – 2nd Monday of the month
• Fulham Library – 3rd Monday of the month.

Music sessions

Hammersmith Library reading groups meet on the last Wednesday of every month from 6pm to 7pm, and on the second Saturday of every month from 10.30am to 12 noon and 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Please contact hammersmithlibrary@lbhf.gov.uk to find out more about these groups.
