Taxicards

Who is eligible for accessible transport and how to apply.

The Taxicard scheme is run by Hammersmith & Fulham Council and London Councils.

If you are disabled or blind and need to be picked up at your door, the Taxicard scheme can be a great help. The scheme is for people with serious mobility difficulties who find using public transport very difficult or impossible. It allows people to travel in designated licensed London radio taxis at a reduced rate.

You can qualify for the Taxicard scheme even if you have a Freedom Pass or use other mobility or door-to-door services.

Who is eligible?

You automatically qualify for the Taxicard scheme if:

  • you receive the higher rate mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance
  • you receive Attendance Allowance – Higher Rate
  • you receive the War Pension Mobility Supplement
  • you are registered severely sight impaired
  • you receive the mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and have scored eight points or more in the ‘Moving Around’ category within the Mobility Component.

In Hammersmith & Fulham you automatically qualify for a Taxicard if you are a Hammersmith & Fulham Blue Badge holder. See information on parking and Blue Badges
