If you succeed in the application for a supported internship, you may work with:
- a job coach, tutor or learning support assistant
- the employer
- a support officer or coordinator from your borough
Before you start
Make sure you:
- agree a start date
- know what to wear
- practice your journey to work
- know who to ask for on your first day
- have the address and phone number of your workplace
What will your week look like?
4 days in the workplace
You'll do tasks like:
- answering phones (Reception)
- using Excel (Office admin)
- helping customers (Retail)
- setting up play areas (Childcare/Hospitality)
- drecting customers (Customer service)
1 day in the classroom
You'll learn:
- job-specific skills
- general employability skills
- english and maths
- personal and social skills
You'll also learn about workplace rules like health & safety and data protection.

- Managers and mentors in the workplace
Finishing the internship
End point assessment: You'll complete an assessment and receive a qualification.
You'll graduate in July at a Graduation Ceremony!
