H&F Early Years advisory team

The team will support the child's nursery, children's centre, or family hub and the practitioners working with the child through programmes and activities.

H&F Inspire service: Specialist help for children with learning, behaviour, sensory, or communication needs

Inspire consists of teams of qualified specialist teachers. They support mainstream settings to meet the needs of pupils aged 0–25 with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). This, including attention, behaviour, and interaction needs or specific literacy and numeracy difficulties including dyslexia and dyscalculia.
Inspire also organises workshops for parents and carers including support for children through anxiety, anger, or sadness.

H&F Educational Psychology service

The nursery or school team has access to this service. They help the education setting support the child or young person by sharing useful strategies.

H&F Family Hub and specialist centre Stephen Wiltshire Centre

This is a specialist centre for children and young people with SEND. The centre offers information, advice, support, and group sessions.

MIND Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) via sessions and activities in schools

The service supports individuals and groups in schools with things like anxiety, low mood, anger, or behaviour. Also working with parents, schools, and specialists. Plus group activities and help with staying in or returning to school.

The Occupational Therapy (OT) Hub website for parents, carers, young people and staff

Access everyday practical tips, training, and local help on things like sleeping,toileting, getting organised, handwriting, and more. The site also includes a calendar showing workshops and training sessions run by occupational therapists online and in your local area Family Hubs and schools.

Kooth website for mental health and wellbeing support for young people aged 11 to 25

Talk openly about anything that's worrying you, like anxiety, stress, low mood, or bullying, without fear of being judged. Free text-based professional counselling, peer-to-peer support and self-help.

Community Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

This service supports the family as well as the professionals working with the child or young person. This may include:

  • SENCOs, school staff, children's therapy teams (like speech and language therapists)
  • local health groups like GPs, community nurses and mental health teams
  • H&F social care, who helps with safeguarding and access to services.

Cheyne Child Development and Neurodisability Service at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

The support includes:

  • sharing information about voluntary and third-sector providers
  • clinical psychology support in situations where there are significant challenges at home and in school
  • liaising with the school to offer advice on strategies to support and manage behaviours and learning
