What is the care leavers local offer?

We have agreed a core offer of services and support that we will give to you as a care leaver.

Under the Children and Social Work Act 2017 we are required to publish the support and services that we offer to our care leavers. This is called the local offer and includes all the services and support that will help in your journey to successful and independent adult life.

The local offer will help you to know:

  • your rights
  • your entitlements
  • your responsibilities
  • our responsibilities and expectations of you.

The local offer includes services and support relating to:

  • education, work and training
  • accommodation
  • health and Wellbeing
  • relationships
  • citizenship and participation in society
  • money matters
  • participation Young People’s Involvement
  • over 21 services
  • useful organisations.

Your social worker, the participation officer, children’s advocate, and social workers in the Care Leavers service will explain this offer to you and help you understand and access the services and support that you are entitled to.
