For Climate Action Week, we have a full programme of activities for everyone from 27 June to 3 July.

In 2019 we declared a climate and ecological emergency. Since then, we have been encouraging residents to help take climate action together. For Climate Action Week, we have a full programme of activities for everyone.

So, do you want to…

  • learn tips for saving on energy bills
  • feast on a wholesome and delicious meal from rescued food
  • become a citizen scientist at your local Tiny Forest; or
  • get the whole family involved with wildlife workshops?

Then you’re invited to join us for a week of fun and free activities from 27 June to 3 July.

With a mix of in-person and online activities, at different venues all around the borough, there’s something for everyone.

The week will finish with two days of festivities at our Wild for Wildlife Festival. This family-friendly event will run from 11am to 4pm on:

  • Saturday 2 July at Wormholt Park
  • Sunday 3 July at Bishops Park

Saving on energy bills

Energy hacks workshop with Green Doctors

Did you know switching off your appliances completely could save you around £55 a year? Join us for this in-person event to learn tips and tricks you can do at home to save on your energy bills. We'll share information about support that's available to help you be green in your home.

Online energy quiz with Green Doctors

Did you know draught proofing your home can save approximately £45 per year? Join Green Doctors for an energy quiz and see how you could save on your energy bills. We'll share information about support that's available to help you green your home.

Cooking and food

Surplus supper at Nourish Hub

Join us for a surplus supper – enjoy a wholesome and delicious meal, have fun and meet new families in a relaxed and informal environment.

Feast on dishes made from rescued ingredients and learn about how to reduce food waste in your own home - to save the planet and your pocket. This is a free ticketed event aimed at families and is perfect for those families looking for an enjoyable afterschool activity and an opportunity to eat together; something which only 30 per cent of families regularly do.

Children and young people

The Air We Breathe with Urban Flyers – White City and Fulham

Do you want to learn how to fly a drone? Have you ever thought about the air quality and pollution in Hammersmith & Fulham? Then this Urban Flyers workshop is for you! Come along to our workshops in White City and Fulham where you can learn how to pilot a drone and measure the air we breathe every day.

The workshops are aimed at young people aged 11+.

Save Our Big Blue Ocean – Shepherds Bush, Hammersmith and Fulham

We all love a bath bomb, but how can we make sure we are caring for the oceans as much as ourselves? Come along to our new Climate Hubs at Shepherds Bush, Hammersmith and Fulham libraries, where the Lush team will help you make your own bath bomb and teach you more about caring for our planet.

The events are suitable for children aged 5+.

Wild for Wildlife Festival – Wormholt Park

Head down to Wormholt Park or Bishops Park for a whole day of wild activities. Engage with both local and national organisations to discover how you can best protect wildlife (and pick up some free seeds along the way)!

Tiny Forest Community Day

Join us as a citizen scientist to learn more about the environmental and social benefits of your local Tiny Forest. Drop by throughout the day to have a look, get immersed in nature and take part in hands-on research.

Pop-ups and markets in Lyric Square

Climate pop-up at the Summer Festival

Join our Climate Action team as part of Hammersmith BID’s summer festival in Lyric Square. Play our carbon literacy game, plant some free seeds and get advice about how we can take climate action together.

Dr Bike

Flat tyre? Need cycle help and advice? Take your bike to our mobile bicycle mechanics as part of Hammersmith BID’s FREE Dr Bike pop-up in Lyric Square.

Library of Things

We’re opening H&F’s first Library of Things! The new community space will host a pop-up to mark their opening in Hammersmith Livat shopping centre (former Kings Mall).

FREE e-scooter training

Learn to scoot the borough – safely and emission-free.

There will be FREE e-scooter training, offered by TIER. All participants can look forward to receiving a free helmet and complementary minutes after completing the session.

The 30-minute-sessions, designed for a maximum of six riders each, are completely free and open to walk-ins.

Zero Emissions Market

The market will feature high quality merchandise including gifts, home accessories, clothes, art, jewellery and crafts from local traders. All stalls and materials will be delivered with zero emissions.
