This week's A-Level grades showed a continued improvement, in Hammersmith & Fulham, with more than a quarter being marked A* or A – above the national average.
Students received keenly awaited news of their results on Thursday, with the picture across the borough being one of improvement.
“It has been a difficult and challenging year, with many students and schools affected in some way by the Grenfell Tower disaster,” said Cllr Sue Macmillan, H&F Cabinet Member for Children and Education.
“It is a great credit to both the schools, and the remarkable young people involved, that our results in the borough have shown an improvement on last year.”
Overall 8 per cent gained A*, and 27 per cent achieved A* to A grades (slightly above the national average of 26 per cent).
52 per cent achieved A* to B grades, and 74 per cent A* to C.
The H&F spread of grades showed improvements – with results better than last year.
“Our schools continue to work with students, post-results, to try to help them find a future in education, training or employment that will give them the best prospects in life.
“Thanks to the hard work and great teaching behind these results, a great many will be looking at a truly bright future.”
