Events to help H&F residents keep fuel costs down this winter

Residents can visit the events to find out more about keeping their fuel bills down this winter.

Informative events will take place this week to help H&F residents cut their fuel bills as part of Big Energy Saving Week.

Hammersmith & Fulham Council is supporting the national campaign from Citizens Advice whose roadshow runs from 31 October to 4 November supported by H&F Citizens Advice.

H&F Citizens Advice has been working alongside H&F Council’s Environmental Health team to offer a range of events where residents can get advice, tips and help with keeping warm and saving money during the cold winter months.

“Fuel poverty is a growing issue for many of our residents so we’re delighted to support Big Energy Saving Week and help them keep on top of their energy bills,” said Cllr Sue Fennimore, H&F Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion.

“I would recommend anyone concerned about their fuel bills to attend one of the roadshow events and make the most of the free help and advice.”

The activities, which kick off on 31 October, will give residents help regarding switching provider and will focus on domestic energy efficiency, as well as looking at fuel poverty and health.

The next events take place as follows:

  • 3 November: Muslim Culture Heritage Centre , 244 Acklam Road, London, W10 5YG – 12noon-3pm
  • 4 November: Avonmore Library, 7 North End Crescent, W14 8TG – 1.30pm-3.30pm

The events will have representatives from H&F Council, as well as utilities companies, Npower, British Gas, SSE, Utilita and the charity Groundworks London.
