The hard work and excellent service of businesses in Hammersmith & Fulham were celebrated last Thursday night (19 November) at the council’s 2015 Brilliant Business Awards.

More than 3,200 local residents voted for their favourite businesses in Fulham, Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush, while a panel of judges awarded prizes in 11 categories including best customer service, best new business and best local employer.

“It is important to take this moment to stop and recognise how hard our businesses work to serve local residents and contribute to our borough,” said H&F Council Leader Stephen Cowan. “We are proud of the winners and determined to give our local firms the support they need to make Hammersmith & Fulham the best borough for business.”

“We’re very excited and proud,” said Geoff Green, owner of Green Structural Engineering, winner of Best Fulham Business. “Without customers you don’t exist so to know our customers voted for us is probably the biggest encouragement you can get.”

Dr Hitesh Batavia of the Ravenscourt Dental Practice, which won Best Hammersmith Business, said, “The great thing is it’s a vote from the public, the people who we serve. My thanks goes to them and to my team, without whom this couldn’t have happened.”

Moussa Merhi of Naama Deli, which won best Shepherds Bush Business, said, “We’re absolutely delighted. It feels wonderful. Our thanks to everyone who made this happen.”

Cllr Andrew Jones, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, promised, “We will keep doing all we can to boost local business”, highlighting the two Christmas markets taking place in a pedestrianised North End Road on 28 November and 12 December, and the support offered by the council’s Business Desk.
