Tell us a fun fact about growing up in Shepherds Bush

Both my husband and I have lived in Shepherds Bush our whole lives. I was born in Conningham Mews and my husband grew up just the other side of Uxbridge Road in Willow Vale.

We met at a sweet shop at the top of Percy Road when we were teenagers and got chatting. At the time, I worked at a cinema in Hammersmith, so I left him some tickets at the shop and the rest is history.

Amazing! What's life been like in Stebbing House since the 1960s?

I moved in with my husband after we got married and have lived here ever since. My husband passed away 11 years ago. We were married for 61 years and had a lovely life together. This flat has been a great family home.

Do you have a favourite memory of life in Edward Woods Estate?

It would have to be when we first moved in 1969. It was such an exciting time starting our life together in a flat we could call home.

We hear you're a bit of a dancing queen, tell us more…

I love to dance! I've done all sorts of styles from line dancing, Ballroom & Latin, Zumba, tap, ballet, musical acrobatics and even belly dancing!

I've done lots of these dance classes over the years at the Macbeth Centre. They have a great selection of dance and exercises classes to choose from.

Fantastic! Any other hobbies?

I've always been an active person, I've been doing Keep Fit for over 50 years, I love it.
