TRAVEL ALERT: Piccadilly line shuts for five days

Check your travel if you need to go to Heathrow.

Part of the Piccadilly line will close for five days this month for engineering work, affecting travel to Heathrow Airport.

From 00:45am to 5am on Saturday 10 February there will be no Piccadilly tubes running between Hammersmith and the airport.

And from Saturday 10 February to Wednesday 14 February, no Piccadilly line trains will run between Acton Town and Heathrow, to allow engineers to upgrade signals.

There will be replacement buses, but allow extra journey time. The Elizabeth line is another alternative.

Transport for London says it’s all part of a £2.9billion ‘modernisation programme’ on the line which includes 94 new trains being brought into service next year with walk-through carriages, digital information screens, air conditioning and wider doors.
