Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s pollution-free delivery service - Parcels not Pollution - has been expanded to cover Shepherds Bush town centre.
The service launched last September using an e-cargo bike for the final leg of any deliveries to businesses in Hammersmith town centre.
The service has proved popular, racking up thousands of miles around the borough since its launch.
“Delivery journeys account for a vast amount of the traffic on our streets, so it’s brilliant that local businesses have been quick to adopt our pollution-free alternative,” said Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for Environment.
“Everyone wants to do their bit to help the environment, and while some changes take time and effort, this is probably the easiest way for borough businesses to make a tangible difference.”
The service removes hundreds of polluting diesel vans and lorry deliveries from our streets, as part of our effort to tackle the climate emergency.
Along with expanding locations, delivery hours have also been extended and will now run from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Brilliant for businesses
So far, more than 50 local businesses have signed up, including National Geographic and LAMDA. The Lyric Theatre was among the first to sign-up to the service and since has used it for around 70% of their day-to-day deliveries.
Parcels not Pollution is also working with Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank, picking up donations from businesses and libraries in the borough and delivering them to their depot.
How does it work?
It couldn’t be easier. Businesses sign-up to the scheme and just change the delivery address from their own, to the Parcels not Pollution freight hub.
H&F Council is partnering with Hammersmith BID, Transport for London and e-cargobikes on the scheme. Goods arrive at the freight hub in Ladbroke Grove.
For all goods arriving before 3pm, deliveries will be made the same day by cargo bike, between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. Best of all, there’s no charge.
The removal of delivery van journeys from the borough helps improve air quality, while reducing traffic and congestion too.
