Up to 300 of the borough's older residents will celebrate Christmas Day together at Hammersmith Town Hall this year.

Hammersmith & Fulham Council's annual Christmas Day lunch offers H&F residents over 60 who may otherwise be alone over the festive period the chance to come together for roast turkey with all the trimmings.

H&F is the only council in the country to provide such a Christmas Day meal.

“This is a time of year when we come together to celebrate,” said Cllr Sue Fennimore, H&F Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion.

“Unfortunately not all of us can spend time with friends or family, which is why we hold this lunch party for older residents.

The event is made possible with the support of donations and volunteers, and the council is on the lookout for any individuals or local companies who may be able to provide donations, food, gifts or their time.

“We deeply appreciate the donations of time or materials that make special event possible, so I would like to thank everyone in advance for their continued support," added Cllr Fennimore.
