Jami is a specialist provider of mental health services in the Jewish community
They provide practical and emotional support for everyone affected by a mental health problem, the person with the diagnosis, friend, relative or employer. This includes:
- Supporting around 1,300 people at any one time and reaching thousands more through our community education
- Delivering approximately 27,000 separate provisions of service annually
- Employing 52 Mental Health professionals
- Operating programmes from 4 Community Hubs and 2 Enterprise Hubs
- Providing innovative peer-led services
Mental health recovery doesn’t always refer to the process of complete recovery in the way we may recover from a physical health problem. Their social workers and occupational therapists support people to recover and maintain their independence. The peer support workers use their own lived experience of mental ill health to reinforce this message, offering hope and social inclusion.
Services enable independence and build resilience and manage the symptoms of ill health, through community hubs and outreach, education and training and bespoke recovery support plans. We enable people to lead a meaningful life despite severe mental ill health.
The community education programme builds awareness, increases understanding and aims to put an end to stigma and discrimination.
