Teacher recruitment including NQTs
We advertise current teaching vacancies in the borough along with other vacancies at the council.
Application forms for teaching posts are sent out by the schools. If it is not clear from the advertisement whether a teaching vacancy is suitable for an NQT, check with the school directly.
All schools in Hammersmith & Fulham have their own website – accessible to students, staff and parents. Some include a jobs page and here you will be able to access a list of vacancies. You will find lists of schools and their contact details in the schools and colleges section.
Times Educational Supplement
In addition to the Times Educational Supplement, there is the TES website and more recently the TES New Teachers website which is dedicated to supporting trainee and newly qualified teachers through the initial years of their career.
Primary and early years first teaching posts
You can apply to the central pool database for posts suitable for NQTs starting in September. Successful applications will be made available to schools in Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster, according to your preferences.
Newly qualified teachers or teachers due to qualify with QTS this academic year are invited to apply to the pool which will close at 5pm on the 19 February. Applications which meet the selection criteria will be shortlisted and made available to schools who will then invite suitable candidates for interview according to the school’s requirements.
Acceptance to the pool does not guarantee employment. All offers of employment will be made by the individual school and will be dependent on accurate information being provided, the award of QTS, satisfactory checks and references.
Applications should be completed electronically and sent as an email attachment to:firstname.lastname@example.org.
Successfully shortlisted applicants will be contacted by 13 March.
