What is this service?

Day Opportunities Service is a service that promotes opportunities for adults with a learning disability, and or autism, physical, mental health, dementia, complex needs etc.

Our people will have the same rights to engage with local communities, access employment and to enjoy a stimulating programme, combining functional skills, sensory focused activities, skills for life – independent living, and focusing on wishes and aspirations.

I am an experienced childminder, working in childcare for over 20 years. I am part of a Quality Childminders Forum (QCF) where I access the latest training and information related to the childcare sector.

I live in a two-bedroom second floor flat which is accessible by a lift. I live with my daughter and 3 friendly cats.

I provide home to home care, and work in partnership with parents to meet needs.

My Name is Georgina Thompson, I am an Ofsted registered childminder and a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early years (PACEY).

I believe that young children are educated through fun and play based educational activities. I understand providing a positive and safe environment is imperative and is vital in your decision when looking for a childminder. I encourage children to continue learning where self-respect and determination are supported, nurtured and enhanced.

I have been a registered childminder for over 25 years.

I have completed additional training including Child Brain Development and SEND.

I take children outside once or twice a day to nearby outdoor facilities such as playgrounds. I also take children to playgroups where they can socialise.
