About us

The NHS Trust provides a workplace nursery that is a warm, welcoming space where staff have built strong, lasting relationships with the children, parents, and each other over many years.

The 50 place nursery is used mainly by staff but is also available to the general public. We offer childcare places for 6-month-olds to 5-year-olds.

The atmosphere feels like is a close-knit community, with a sense of continuity and stability. All of the childcare practitioners have a deep understanding of the children's needs, knowing their preferences, personalities, and learning styles. This familiarity allows the staff team to provide personalised care and education, ensuring that each child feels safe, valued, and supported.

Key Features at the Charing Cross Day Nursery:

  • Bright and Spacious Rooms: Our rooms are filled with natural light, offering a calm and stimulating atmosphere for our young learners. Soft, colourful furnishings create a comfortable space for children to explore and play.
  • Age-Appropriate Rooms: We have dedicated areas for different developmental stages, ensuring that your child's learning is tailored to their needs. From sensory exploration for infants to structured play and learning activities for toddlers and pre-schoolers, we encourage exploration and development at every stage.
  • Safe and Secure Environment: Safety is our top priority. The nursery is fully equipped with secure entry points and childproofed rooms, and all staff are trained in child Health & Safety and Paediatric First Aid. Each child's well-being is closely monitored, providing parents peace of mind.
  • Qualified and Caring Staff: Our team consists of highly trained and passionate educators who genuinely care about your child's development. Each childcare practitioner is committed to nurturing the children's emotional, social, and cognitive growth, while also fostering independence and self-confidence.
  • Outdoor Play Area: We believe in the power of outdoor play for young children. Our outdoor space is designed to encourage physical activity, exploration, and social interaction, with safe, age-appropriate equipment and plenty of space to run and play.
  • Healthy Meals and Snacks: We offer nutritious, balanced meals and snacks, prepared with care to support your child's growth. Special dietary requirements are accommodated to ensure that every child has access to healthy food options.
  • Personalised Care: We understand that every child is unique. We work closely with parents to understand their child's individual needs, preferences, and developmental milestones, ensuring that the child feels valued, supported, and encouraged at all times.

Supporting children with additional needs

At the Charing Cross Day Nursery, we are committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child, including those with special educational needs, can thrive. We recognise that each child is unique, with different learning styles and abilities, and we believe that all children deserve equal opportunities to develop and succeed.

The Charing Cross Day Nursery is designed to be a place where all children feel valued. We celebrate diversity and we are dedicated to creating an environment where every child, including those with special educational needs, can grow, learn, and thrive.
