H&F Green Innovators

Bringing innovative green ideas to life in our communities and workplaces

We've teamed up with Startup Discovery School to introduce H&F Green Innovators – a first-of-its-kind innovation scheme to help H&F organisations turn their green ideas into reality.

The new programme supports organisations of every shape and size – from startups and social enterprises to not-for-profits – in developing their innovative ideas for a greener, healthier borough. As well tackling local issues around climate, energy, waste, and access to nature, the programme is encouraging the growth for our local green economy.

It's part of H&F's Climate Alliance and Upstream London's economic growth plan, which has attracted more than £1.1billion of investment in green and climate tech since 2017.

The offer means local entrepreneurs get to drive climate solutions that benefit their local community while we get to foster and boost innovation in H&F, ensuring that tomorrow is made here. It's a win-win.

How does it work?

Successful candidates get the guidance and opportunity to turn their green ideas into reality, including the chance to pitch and win up to £3,000 in funding and expert support.

Previously shortlisted projects have centred around topics such as clean energy, smart transport, circularity, green public spaces, healthier air, green skills and more.

The support offered as part of the programme includes:

  • three in-person workshops (approx. 4 hours/week)
  • one-to-one coaching and peer learning
  • a pitch night with a panel of experts
  • a chance to win £3,000 in cash and in-kind support
  • access to local green economy networks and exposure opportunities.

All innovators are now part of the H&F Climate Alliance, receiving continued support and access to our growing network of climate conscious businesses across the borough.

Follow our Green Innovators' journeys and get inspired with regular updates on our Climate Blog. Updates will be delivered to your inbox every month, alongside further opportunities to access support and take action, through the Climate Connects newsletter.
