What support is available for your child while awaiting a diagnostic assessment

When you speak to your GP, health visitor, nursery or school setting they may refer your child to the relevant team to be assessed.

Support for your child is based on their individual needs, not on having a medical diagnosis.

Support with education is usually provided through SEND support .This is the extra help offered to a child or young person to enable them to learn and make progress in their learning, alongside other children of the same age. See SEND support in nurseries, schools and colleges.
