Highways licences applying online

Explains how to set up an online account to apply for highways permits.

We are responsible for issuing licences for all temporary structures on the public highway.

Sign in or create an account

You need to have an account with My Account to apply for a highways licence. If you do not have an account please create one.

  • once inside My Account, choose 'Other services' from the navigation menu
  • then select the licensing and choose the licence type from the list
  • follow instructions to apply and pay online
  • once application and payment has been received you will receive email confirmation.
  • a permit or enforcement officer may contact you to discuss dates or conditions.
  • once your licence has been granted you will receive an email with all the details. We will no longer being issuing a hard copy of the licence.
