More about marriage
A marriage is a verbal contract (you say vows to each other). A marriage ceremony can be intimate with only the couple and 2 witnesses in attendance.
You can have a civil or religious marriage. A civil marriage must take place in a register office or a General Register Office-approved venue. A religious ceremony must take place within a place of worship.
Both religious and civil marriage ceremonies are internationally recognised.
