If you need help because of an emergency or a crisis, you may be able to get a Local Support Payment (LSP).
You may also qualify if you need help to remain or settle in the community. There is no automatic entitlement, this is a discretionary scheme and we base our decision on every individual case.
Important update – Changes from 1st October
From Wednesday 1 October 2025, we will no longer be issuing store vouchers for white goods, furniture, or food.
Instead, all awards will be paid directly into your bank account via BACS.
We've also updated our application process. You will now need to complete a benefits calculator to help ensure you're not missing out on any other financial support. In some cases, we may also need you to provide additional evidence to support your application.
Thank you for your understanding as we make these improvements to better support you.
