Get your Covid jabs and boosters

We were reminded this week that by far the majority of Covid patients in intensive care locally have not been vaccinated. With the new Omicron variant now spreading across the country, it is more important than ever to keep up your and others’ protection by getting the first two doses of the vaccine and the booster jab.

The NHS plans to step up the distribution of the vaccine in the coming weeks with the intention of delivering the booster to everyone aged 18 and older by the end of next month.

We will be organising more walk-in vaccine popups in the borough, so please keep an eye on our website for details of these and check your age eligibility (currently for people aged 40 and over) before coming.

The advice to wait until you are contacted by the NHS before booking any vaccine continues. This can be done by calling 119 or on the NHS website.
