We’re showing our support for the brave people who make up our armed forces community and we’d like you to join us on Saturday (23 June).

We’re holding a parade along the edges of Shepherds Bush Green followed by a service at the green’s war memorial. The parade begins at 11am.

It will celebrate the beginning of Armed Forces Week as we join in events across the country to honour serving troops, their families, veterans and cadets.

“Our armed forces have done so much for us and continue to do so - it can be easy to forget that,” said Cllr Alan De’Ath, H&F Council’s Representative for the Armed Forces.

“This is one way we can show how grateful we are for everything they do keeping us safe from threats at home and abroad, delivering aid, and much more.”

Cllr De’Ath will head-up the parade, carrying the campaign’s flag, along with H&F Council’s Mayor, Cllr Daryl Brown and H&F’s Deputy Lieutenant Kevin McGrath.

They will be joined by a brass band, army cadets and police cadets.

Armed Forces Week culminates the following Saturday with Armed Forces Day.

We’ll be flying the Armed Forces Day flag at Hammersmith Town Hall all week from Monday.

Hammersmith & Fulham has signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant, a promise by the nation to ensure those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly.
