Pupils at Lady Margaret School put on a show-stopping performance at the Be Your Best Rock Challenge to claim third place in a tightly-contested affair.

The Fulham schoolgirls impressed with their UNICEF-themed dance of hope and freedom.

Ten schools from across Hertfordshire, London, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and North Somerset competed at the annual contest.

After the long hours of rehearsals, making the sets and costumes, the Lady Margaret girls were rewarded for their efforts by the three judges as they bagged 10 awards on the night, including prizes for choreography and stage use.

There was even an accolade for the soundtrack medley that the H&F youngsters put together as hits from the likes of Beyoncé and new sensation Rag’n’Bone Man rang out to a packed auditorium as the girls performed.

The other awards were picked up for excellence in concept, drama, entertainment, lighting, stage crew, drug awareness and student leadership.

The Be Your Best Rock Challenge event aims to inspire, engage and motivate young people to make healthy and positive lifestyle choices.

Last year, the girls school in Parsons Green came second in the Rock Challenge to go through to the regional finals.

Their theme evolved around the lives of women who have broken through the glass ceiling in society.
