HF ArtsFest is gearing up for another exciting week of events and is calling for artists and groups to help make 2016 a success.

Outgoing chair Cathy Robertson said the enthusiasm is already building for this year’s festival, which is to be held from 6-12th June and is supported by Hammersmith & Fulham Council.

“We’ve already got people coming back from last year, the momentum has already started,” she said.

“It’s certainly going to be as big as last year and we’re focusing on bespoke events, which is what we think is going to make it very special.”

Over 150 events, involving more than 360 artists, took place during last year’s week-long programme, half of which were bespoke. It featured drama, dance, music, art exhibitions, literature, tours and much more.

Organisers are calling on groups and individuals with a wide range of skills and backgrounds to sign up for this year’s event.

Anyone wishing to take part should contact them as soon as possible saying they would like to join in, and be willing to carry the festival’s logo on their website.

Summaries of participating events of no more than 100 words will need to be sent to info@hf-artsfest.com by early March in order to be included in the festival’s programme and website for free.

Petrea Owens, previously the general manager of Albert and Friends Instant Circus and now a senior partner of Circus Arts Education, has taken over from Cathy Robertson as chair.

Cathy, who will remain on the board, said she was delighted with the new appointment and said: “Trea will bring new energy and over 32 years of experience of running a charity and a variety of small arts companies.”
