Gins in while you watch The Whites win

If you balk at beer, and Bovril just isn’t your cup of tea, Fulham FC have a new idea for your next half-time tipple – gin.

If you balk at beer, and Bovril just isn’t your cup of tea, Fulham FC have a new idea for your next half-time tipple – gin.

The Championship side have opened a new gin bar, called The Clubhouse, in an executive box at their Craven Cottage ground – for those who like their matchdays shaken-not-stirred.

Created with the support of Gin Foundry – the online home of gin, and overlooking the Thames – the bar will be offering a range of gins and cocktails for all tastes.

But how might the crew down at The Cottage wet their whistle on a matchday?

Craven cocktails – the gin spin for five well-known Fulham faces

  1. The Last Word (green Chartreuse, gin, Maraschino liqueur, lime juice) – ideal for outspoken Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic.
  2. The 75 (gin, Champagne, lemon juice, and sugar) – a worthy toast to Alan Mullery, captain of The Whites' 1975 FA Cup final side.
  3. Old Etonian (Crème de Noyaux, orange bitters, Kina Lillet or Cocchi Americano, gin) – perhaps a tipple for Fulham fan Hugh Grant, player of many an upper-crust role, though actually an old boy of Latymer Upper School.
  4. Texas Fizz (Champagne, gin, orange juice, grenadine syrup) – make former Craven Cottage favourite Clint Dempsey, born in Nacogdoches in the Lone Star State, feel at home.
  5. Poet’s Passion (gin, peach liqueur, passion fruit concentrate, fresh lime juice, peach bitters) – singer-songwriter, and Fulham fan, Lily Allen would surely love a glass.
