The Libraries Consortium

Borrow books from 23 boroughs across London, Essex and Surrey.

We have joined The Libraries Consortium network which is a group of 23 public library authorities. This means that H&F library users now benefit from a much wider range of stock.

The network provides over 7 million items for you to get stuck into including:

Our ordering process, loan periods, online reference library and the number of books you can borrow have not changed and you will be able to reserve items as normal and ask for them to be delivered to your local branch for you to collect.

You will also be able to visit any of the libraries in the consortium to borrow books and use the facilities including PCs and Wi-Fi. Deliveries arrive twice a week, early on Tuesdays and Fridays. To have the best weekends, curled up in your favourite universe, pick up your holds before we close on Fridays or early Saturday. Find your library.

You may need to take small steps such as updating your web browser bookmarks to the new catalogue address The Libraries Consortium network and you may need to sign in and out of the Overdrive app.

If you don't already have the Overdrive app you can find it on Google Play or Apple store

The Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster library services are not part of The Libraries Consortium and we no longer have a shared borrowing arrangement between the three boroughs.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the recent changes but believe we are now able to offer a greatly improved library service. We are committed to helping you with any questions, so if you need any assistance, please ask in branch or by email.
