A guide to burial records at H&F Archives and Local Studies

Since 1837 records of death have been recorded by the General Registry Office. These records capture the date and cause of death. In contrast, burial records can date back further but are limited to recording the date of burial.

The records held at H&F Archives and Local Studies relate to the municipal cemeteries that were, and still are, managed by the local authorities. In H&F we have 4 municipal cemeteries:

This guide gives information on the burial records held for these four cemeteries. For all enquiries regarding locating graves please contact cemeteries@lbhf.gov.uk.
