H&F Climate Champions

H&F Climate Champions cohort 2025

The Climate Champions programme provides training, connection-building, and ongoing peer-support to local – and aspiring – community leaders.

It's designed to help drive positive change for residents and our environment.

The offer forms part of H&F's top-charting Climate and Ecology Strategy (PDF, 624KB) which guides our work with residents, businesses and community groups to take Climate Action Together.

Training and ongoing support

The Climate Champions programme includes training to build knowledge of the local impacts of our changing climate, alongside workshops to develop skills in community engagement, project planning and leadership.

All H&F Climate Champions also gain access to further learning resources and dedicated networking groups where they can continue to share tips and develop ideas.

We are here to learn and I have enjoyed being part of this. It has made me think more and I will be working towards getting my project started with the other members of my estate committee"

Following training, the H&F Climate Team continue to work closely with our Climate Champions to support their community-based projects and connect them with the council's wider programme for delivering on the Climate and Ecology Strategy.

It's also great to know we are backed by the [H&F] Climate Team, it gives added credibility, and I now feel more confident in pitching my idea as a 'Climate Champion'"

Meet the Champions

H&F's 15 Climate Champions are based across the borough and bring a wide range of experiences and ideas for growing a greener, healthier borough.

I've found like-minded individuals and neighbours with whom to engage and take climate action at the borough level"

How to get involved

We are not currently accepting applications for future Climate Champions. However, the Climate Team always want to hear from residents and organisations within the borough to make sure we are taking climate action together.

If you have an eco-idea, concerns about our climate, an exciting sustainability event, or just want to get more involved, email us at climate-emergency@lbhf.gov.uk
