Pre-supported internships for young Disabled people

Find out about study programmes giving some work experience for young people aged 16 to 24 who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan.

About pre-supported internships

Pre-supported internships are for young people who want to work but aren't quite ready for a full supported internship.
You might choose a pre-supported internship if:

  • you're still learning to travel on your own
  • you want to build your confidence before doing lots of work experience
  • you need more time to get ready for the world of work.

How is it different from a supported internship?

Pre-supported internships:

  • run 3 days a week instead of 5 times a week
  • give you more time to learn and prepare.

What's the goal?

The aim is to help you feel ready and confident to move on to a supported internship when you're ready.
