A blog of two halves

With one Championship match remaining Fulham must aim for a win at Birmingham on Sunday (6 May) and hope that Cardiff draw or lose.

Brentford’s last minute equaliser dismayed Fulham fans, but caused jubilation in parts of the Midlands.

Whatever happens, the 2017-18 season will be regarded as one of the most amazing in Fulham’s history. And I say that as someone who has been supporting the club since 1948!

Slavisa Jokanovic’s team showed neither fatigue nor overconfidence when Leeds United visited the Cottage on Tuesday the 3rd April.

Fulham fans should be delighted that Alex White is now the club’s official historian.

After Fulham’s 2-0 victory over Championship leaders Wolverhampton a friend of mine sent me the two-page analysis of the match by the Midlands based Express & Star newspaper.

After the Whites’ 2-0 victory over Aston Villa the Mail on Sunday’s Oliver Holt averred: “There are many who feel that Slavisa Jokanovic’s Fulham are the best footballing team in the division. Momentum, certainly, is on their side.”

The last five weeks have confirmed Fulham’s right to be considered one of the top teams in the Championship.
