Long grass areas

At our two older cemeteries; Margravine and Fulham Palace Road, long grass areas have been successfully established for a number of years.

On a trial basis this year we have introduced the regime at North Sheen and Mortlake Cemeteries.

Leaving the grass longer on some sections will allow plant species to flower and provide a better habitat for local wildlife.

This policy is in keeping with the grade II listing as a Site of Importance to Nature Conservation.

This trial will be reviewed at the end of the summer months and comments from members of the public are welcome so we may review feedback at the end of the summer.

You can do this by writing to the Cemeteries Office, Lower Richmond Road, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 4LL or:

We are happy to cut access paths to specific graves where grave owners request us to do.
